Is this Going to be a Cold Summer Time?

..Or would this cold and rainy weather stop just moments before summer? (o__O)

Well, I won't let that bother me anymore. I guess summer is still a long way to go, right?

Hey there everyone! How are you all doing? Me, I'm doing fine, and yes, I'm already very busy compiling my requirements for the signing of clearance starting tomorrow until next week.

And guess what next week would bring us honors and graduating students? It would finally be our last exam for the school year! Very early, eh? See? That's what I love about being an honor student: being able to take the final exams veeerrrrryyyyy early! hahah! :DD

But, even though there would already be no classes for us honors and graduating students the weeks after that, we still need to go to school to help the teachers with things to do, or, maybe we would be asked to list our extra and co-curricular activities then let the teachers sign them.

Well, next week also would be our SBO (Student Body Organization) Campaign for the elections! Once again, I'm going to run for a position, and that's for Secretary, since I am the Assistant Secretary this school year, so, it was quite expected that I'm going to run for Secretary this time for the next school year. The name of our party would be PARTY Party! haha! Which means, "Proactive Alliance of Respectful and Trustworthy Youth". Well, I'm not exactly sure with the meaning though, but I know it sounds like that. ^^,

You know, I feel that this SBO Election would be one of a kind. I mean, it would be very different from other elections we had the past years, since there are a lot of candidates who are going to run for the first time! And it's also quite unexpected that they would run as well. Then, most of these candidates are likeable and it's kinda sure that they would win because of their friendliness and popularity. But, I won't let that thought about them influence my confidence in winning! I know that there are a lot of my schoolmates who would wisely vote for candidates who are deserving of the position and are well-experienced with it, so, yeah. I'm not also saying that I'm all that, it's just that, I trust all of my HS schoolmates in voting the right person.

By the way, it took me a long time to recover from that dreamy event called PROM! hahaha! :DD I'm so glad that I was able to experience that real life fairytale, being able to be awarded as the Lady of the Night, with a tiara, sash, and a big bouquet of flowers, and I felt like I had just won a beauty pageant! LOL! Then, being able to dance with a lot of boys, I really felt like a princess! And, being able to "dance like there's no tomorrow" during the disco, I felt like I had enjoyed my life to the fullest, and that "girls just wanna have fun". To those upcoming Juniors, and if ever you'd already have your prom, I know that you're going to enjoy it as much as I did! :)

Before I'd end my post, I would like to share to you these two inspirational songs from popular RNB singers! :D

Well, that's it for now! Thank you so much for reading and viewing! :D

Here are some questions that will guide you in commenting! :)

  1. Have you ever experienced a cold summer?
  2. How are you doing with compiling your requirements?
  3. When will you have your final exam? :D
  4. Have you tried running for the Student Government? Tell me your experiences with it.
  5. What do you think of prom? ^^,
  6. What do you think of the songs I had shared? :D Can you suggest some inspirational songs too? :)

A Royal Night in Paris ♥

HELLO everyone! :D How are you all doing! It's been a long time since I updated my blog! I had been very busy with school stuff lately, I mean VERY busy! Well, I'll blab about that after I tell you what happened last February 19, 2011! Can you guess? It's our JS PROM! ;) It's theme was, as you can read from the title, "A Royal Night in Paris". You know, this event seemed like a real life fairytale! Let the pictures do the talk first [and some captions, of course]:

My gown, hair, and makeup! :))

With my teachers ..

Ma'am Rethse, our former class advisor during First Year High School! ;) She was the one who made my first moment in high school so memorable, together with my classmates too of course! :D I thank her for that. ^^,

Ma'am Beth, my Chemistry teacher! She makes Chemistry fun to learn, although this subject could be head-aching at times. xD Well, she still finds a way to make us love this subject! :) I'm so thankful to her!

With friends ..

With my partneeeeerrrrr !! :DD His name is Clark. ;) Meet Clark. LOL.

LADY OF THE NIGHT! :D Together with the Lord of the Night, Couple of the Night, and the King and Queen of the Night! ;)

CLASS PICTURES! Oh, some gorgeous people I've been with that night! ^^,

LADY OF THE NIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGHHHHHHTTTTT!! :)) The bouquet of flowers, sash, crown, and pillow [as a token]! :D

I got some of these pictures from these bloggers' Facebook profiles: Channie, Pearl, and Princheez! :D Check out their blogs if you want. ;)

Here's how our prom went,

During the preparation of that night's prom, early in the afternoon, we went to a nearby beauty parlor for the hair, makeover, and the gown! The makeup session lasted for about 2 hours, then by the time it was finished, you know what I saw? A completely different face of mine! LOL! hahah .. I almost could not believe it was me. xD As I look through the photos my mother took for me, I was so amazed at how I looked like!

Well, after that, since it was still too early to go to the hotel where the prom would be held, me and my mother rested at home for a while, then, minutes later, my father finally brought me to the hotel. There were a lot of people already! I was so amazed with how everyone looked like as well! haha! I mean, they have beautiful gowns and attires, and they looked prettier and more handsome than ever! I almost could not identify who they are! LOL! As soon as I arrived, together with my mother and baby brother, we immediately took pictures of each other, then with some of my friends and teachers!

Finally! The prom finally started! It started with the Grand Entrance, and I guess everyone of us felt so proud to be called respectively King and Queen. Even I was called, "Queen Vanesa"! hahah! :))

After that was the program proper, then the cotillion, then finally we took our seats to listen to the speeches, prophecies, and the will and testament! :D I had fun listening to these, especially the "Will and Testament" [hahaha!], because I had contributed to this one!

Then, food was served! They're so classy, and delicious too! It's good that I was able to eat veggies at that time. ;)

While we were eating, good-time videos of our batch and the Seniors' batch were shown. Remember the video I posted in my previous post? That was the one shown for us Juniors. My batchmates enjoyed watching it, and the Seniors also enjoyed watching theirs too! Some of the Seniors wanted to cry at that time, since they know they're going to miss each other very much, and that they're almost graduating, and they would never see each other again for a long time. It was heart-warming seeing some of their tears of joy and hearing their laughs while watching their video. I wish that would be the same for us soon-to-be-Seniors! :D

After eating, we had the DISCO! wooooooh! I enjoyed this part very much! hahah! Especially when I saw everyone's happy faces and silly dance moves! I was kill-joy for a while, and I guess I should also be because I had just finished eating, but after a while, I danced with them, finally! LOL! I also had pictures with some friends and schoolmates! Then, the disco fever was paused for a while, then the SLOW DANCE part came! hahah! I was sooooooo hesitant to engage in this part of the program, but my partner encouraged me to dance with him. o__O Well, paranoid by the fact that one teacher is listing people who did not dance and I was wondering what he would do to them [I don't know if he really did it though. LOL], I reluctantly slow-danced with my partner. Then, there came the next partner, and then the next, until it came to the 9th partner, I think [wahaha. I counted it, silly me. xD], then the disco resumed! Wooooh! I enjoyed it very much!

Then, after the disco, AWARDING came! I sat down at the table there, eager to know who the awardees of the night are, ABSOLUTELY not expecting anything, as in not a single thought about getting one of those awards came to my mind. Seconds before the announcing of the awardees, my partner told me, "You're going to be one of those awardees." Suddenly, after he said that, I heard my name! I was so astonished and amazed! "The Lady of the Night is Vanesa Salcedo!" :: I almost could not believe what I have heard! I, so amazed and surprised by the announcement, went to the stage together with the Lord of the Night, sat down there, then listened to the other announcement of "of the night-s". After all the awardees were called, we were given tiaras, sashes, and big bouquets of flowers! I felt so special, having received the awards! I kept on wondering, "How do they choose those honored people?" and "Why did they choose me?". haha!

Wooooh! After the awarding, there was still 20 minutes of the remaining time! We used that time for the slow dance. Well, it turned out that my last dance was with someone I like. hahah! Whew! ♥ That made my night so memorable, but the "Lady of the Night" award is what made it more memorable. ;)

I would really thank the people involved my prom preparation and in the prom itself! I would like to thank them for making my "Moment for Life" this memorable, and unforgettable!

It was already close to midnight when I got home, then I excitedly told my parents about the award! They were as happy as me, and it seemed that I have won a beauty pageant! LOL!

I then prepared to go to sleep, prayed to God, thanking Him for everything that had happened that night! I had never been that happy before! :D

It was indeed like that of the fairytales we usually watch back when us girls were little, right? haha ..

Woah. A Real Life Fairytale indeed! A dream come true!

J-U-N-I-O-R-S, JUNIORS! :D

A video I made for our batch. This is mostly what I have been doing the whole week, well, aside from prom practices. And speaking of prom, this video is actually a good-time video made to be shown during the event.

Enjoy! :D I hope you like it! ;)

Something About Love

Hey there everyone! How are you all doing? Me, I'm doing fine! I'm very, very sorry that I got my blog pending for updates for so long. I guess you already know the reason: we were very, very busy, and I mean it this time! You know, this February, we only got the afternoon of Saturday and the whole Sunday for rest! o__O As for my comeback post, I will write an journal about LOVE, since its Valentine's Day. :) Actually, a friend of mine assigned me to write one for him, so, here it is!

PS. To that friend of mine who assigned me to write the journal, please don't copy the ones I wrote above this broken line. ^^,

I'll write the highlights of the past few weeks that I wasn't around here in the blogging world next time.

Something About Love

by Vanesa Salcedo

What exactly is this thing we call LOVE? Wikipedia defines "love" this way:

Love is the emotion of strong affection and personal attachment.[1] In philosophical context, love is a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection. In some religious contexts, love is not just a virtue, but the basis for all being, as in the Roman Catholic phrase, "God is love"[2]. Love may also be described as actions towards others (or oneself) based on compassion.[3] Or as actions towards others based on affection.[4]
The word love can refer to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes, ranging from generic pleasure ("I loved that meal") to intense interpersonal attraction ("I love my partner"). "Love" can also refer specifically to the passionate desire and intimacy of romantic love, to the sexual love of eros (cf.Greek words for love), to the emotional closeness of familial love, or to the platonic love that defines friendship,[5] to the profound oneness or devotion ofreligious love. [6] This diversity of uses and meanings, combined with the complexity of the feelings involved, makes love unusually difficult to consistently define, even compared to other emotional states.
Love in its various forms acts as a major facilitator of interpersonal relationships and, owing to its central psychological importance, is one of the most common themes in the creative arts.
Here are some informal definitions of Love by age, which I got from a social microblogging site called Tumblr:

Do you all agree? BUT, even though it says that children view "Love" as icky and gross, there are also some kids that view love differently, and humorously, I guess. Take these for example: (From http://www.gagirl.com/misc/kids.html)

On what falling in love is like:

"Like an avalanche where you have to run for your life." (Roger, 9)

"If falling in love is anything like learning how to spell, I don't want to do it. It takes too long." (Leo, 7)
Concerning the origins of love:
"Cupid kissed God and that got the ball rollin'." (Julio, 9)
"One of the Greek lady gods got a crush on one of the Greek man gods. He tried to hit her with lightning and thunderbolts, but he just couldn't get her away from him ... After a while, they became the first married gods." (Robbie, 8)
It's funny how various people tend to view "Love" in different ways, especially in "falling in love". Unexperienced as I am in falling in love, honestly, I don't really know the real things I'd feel and encounter when it comes to it. I just know some things about it through reading different quotes I receive from textmates and friends from social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and here at Blogger. But, the common things I usually read (or hear) from them would be, if you're really in love, you don't really know why you're feeling it, and it would somewhat be an undescribable feeling. When you're just getting started with it, it would feel like heaven, but when it ends, with that significant other, it would really feel like hell, as what they have said too.
Aside from quotes, I also know some things about Love through songs! Oh yes, SONGS are my major sources of information or views about love, since most songs now talk about it. Here are some songs I would like to share to you:
Something About Love by David Archuleta (Now you know the origin of this journal's title. :D)
Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis
Catch Me by Demi Lovato
The Man who can't be Moved by The Script
Breakeven by The Script

Those are just some songs I would like to share for now, since there are A LOT of songs in mind that I would want to share but it would make this journal very long. ;)

LOVE is really a controversial feeling, isn't it? There's even a day wherein we'd celebrate it with our loved ones, and that's Valentine's Day!

Since Valentine's Day is fast approaching, let me ask you, do you have your valentine? If you don't, and would only spend the day with your family and friends, then, that would perfectly be okay. Besides, Valentine's day isn't a day for Love, it's of Love. What I mean is, this day isn't only for lovers, but it's for all of us! We should not think that Valentine's day wouldn't mean anything without that boyfriend or girlfriend to spend it with. What matters is that you're with the ones you love, and with the ones who love you. This day, for others, could also mean receiving a lot of chocolates and flowers, but, in my own point of view, any gifts, or that usual kind of celebration we have, would just be fine.

So, have a Happy Valentine's Day! :D I hope you learned a lot from me. ;)
